It all started during a vodka-soaked evening in 2012 …

When a group of friends decided it would be a lot of fun to have some cocktails whilst wearing heels. Thus, The Southern Ladies Party was born.

What started as a fun, backyard event to celebrate the Kentucky Derby and drink mint juleps quickly gained traction - and through the years, people discovered the magic that happens when everyone gets in drag … barriers get knocked down, and people start to feel more comfortable in their own skin, allowing for more authentic conversation and connection.

Since then, The Southern Ladies Party has focused on connecting the LGBTQ+ community through the fun (and magic) of drag.

After a 5-year hiatus, we are so thrilled to revive The Southern Ladies Party, and bring this fabulous event back to Pittsburgh!
